Soy Free Fondant

When I first got into cake making, I thought fondant making would be challenging. I quickly found out it’s super easy and only uses a couple ingredients.

Ingredients

  1. 10 oz mini marshmallows
  2. 4 cups powdered sugar 
  3. 4 TB water
  4. 1 tsp palm shortening, OR refined coconut oil (if you can do coconut)

Instructions

  1. Melt your marshmallows in the microwave for about 1 minute.
  2. Dump all ingredients into a kitchen aid with a dough hook and beat till a dough ball forms (consistency should be like playdoh & not stick to your fingers when kneading). Add in 1/4 cup powdered sugar if the consistency is too sticky.
  3. Roll it out and knead in coloring, as desired. Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days. 
  4. Design into desired shapes & let dry up to 36 hours till hard (like plaster)
