Cheese ball base:

  • 16 oz dairy-free cream cheese, softened (Violife)
  • 1 cup dairy-free cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup diced bacon
  • 3 TB chopped green onions or chives
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Choose one coating/topping option…

Option 1: Crunchy

  • 1/4 cup more diced bacon
  • 1/4 cup crushed gluten-free soy-free pretzels OR Free2Eat crackers
  • 1/4 cup cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

Option 2: Cheesy

  • 1 cup shredded dairy-free cheddar cheese OR vegan soy free cheese of choice

Option 3: Garlic & Herb

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 TB chopped fresh chives or green onions
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning or dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 TB grated dairy-free parmesan (optional)

Option 4: Thanksgiving Turkey (decorative)

  • 1014 gluten-free pretzel sticks (feathers)
  • 1 thick or 23 thin gluten-free pretzel sticks (neck)
  • 2 allergy friendly Candy eyes
  • 1 candy corn, for a nose
  • Extra cream cheese for attaching decorations

Option 5: Christmas Red & Green

  • 1/2 cup shredded dairy-free cheddar
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup bacon

For serving

  • 3 packages Free2Eat crackers, OR 1 summer sausage, OR 16 oz gluten free pretzels

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese 15–20 minutes.
  2. Mix cream cheese and cheddar until smooth.
  3. Stir in ½ cup bacon, green onions, parmesan (optional), garlic powder, black pepper, and ¼ tsp smoked paprika.
  4. Shape into a ball, wrap, and chill 10 mins.
  5. Press your chosen topping on the outside:
  • Crunchy: ½ cup bacon + ¼ cup crushed pretzels or crackers + 1/4 cup vegan cheddar cheese
  • Cheesy: 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • Garlic & Herb: ½ cup parsley + 2 Tb chives + 1 tsp Italian seasoning + ½ tsp garlic powder + 2 Tb parmesan (optional)
  • Thanksgiving Turkey: add pretzel sticks for feathers/neck, attach candy eyes and corn with cream cheese
  • Christmas Red & Green: ½ cup cheddar + ¼ cup cranberries + ¼ cup parsley + ¼ cup bacon
