I was pleasantly surprised to find how non expensive and easy it is to make homemade marinara that is allergy friendly! Instead of spending 11$ for 32 oz marinara I can spend about 4$.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
  2. 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped, OR 2 tsp dried basil 
  3. 1 tsp oregano
  4. 1.5 tsp garlic
  5. 2 tsp onion powder
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/4 tsp pepper
  8. 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  9. Follow your heart Parmesan flakes, for topping (optional)

Instructions

1. Purée one can of diced tomatoes in a blender till both chunky and smooth & then dump all ingredients into a pan to heat till boil. Take off heat and serve with pasta or meatballs.
