Allergy Disclaimer

(last updated by Nikki in Dec 2024)

I decided to compile a list of our favorite store bought foods that are allergy friendly. Each item will not contain any of the top 9 allergens in the ingredients list, but might contain cross contamination. So, please do your research about cross contamination and read the ingredients carefully before you decide that these items are safe for you and your family to eat. Don’t just trust me and the current information I have. I do not extensively look into cross contamination, unless I’m cooking for our bakery.

Favorite Allergy Friendly Brands

If I had to pick a few favorite allergy friendly brands, I’d pick the following: Oatly, Partake, Violife, and 360 Whole Market. These brands consistently make quality items that I love the flavor and textures of.
Also, the brands No Whey and Yum Earth have lots of options for chocolate and candy, so I definitely recommend trying their stuff! I personally just don’t eat or like much candy and their items generally are expensive, which is why they are not in my list of favorite brands.

So let’s get on to my favorite items!!…..

40 Family Favorite Store-bought Foods (Allergy Friendly)

1. Vegan Violife Butter

If I don’t have ingredients on hand at home to make homemade butter, I do a quick run to the store for vegan soy free butter. Violife is the brand that I like most, but there are other options. Here is a list of the other top 9 free allergy butters.

2. Violife Cheeses

There are so many options here and I like the taste of this brand most. In fact, I love it so much I created a copycat cheddar cheese recipe that shreds and melts. When I do buy their cheese, I love the cheddar shreds the most.

3. Daiya Cheeses

This brand definitely has the superior melt factor when it comes to vegan cheese. Their cheese is perfect for making grilled cheese sandwiches, pizzas, and cheeseburgers. The only downside is the cost! It is very expensive to buy, so we often make our own cheddar cheese at home.

4. Partake Cookies

5. Yum Earth Candy Canes

I LOVE these candy canes! My favorite ones are the blue raspberry flavored ones.. I could eat 5 a day easily haha. Highly recommend!!

6. Fit Joy Table Crackers

Now some people don’t like these, but I could eat a whole box in one sitting. They are not ritz crackers, but they are a great substitute in my opinion. I like to eat them with sunflower butter or dipped in chocolate. If you can have soy, then I recommend table crackers by the Schar brand!

7. Namaste Flour

Namaste flour is made in a dedicated top 9 free facility which is why I love this brand so much!

8. Snyders Gluten Free Pretzels

I have tried Glutino Brand pretzels and Synder’s is by far the winner. Glutino is great if you want a fluffy airy pretzel. Synders is way more like your classic pretzel in flavor with a bit more crunch.

9. Costco’s Tortilla Chips

We use these every Thursday night to make some sort of taco recipe. Usually ends up being baked nachos: homemade cheese, chips, meat, spices, avocado, tomatoes.

10. Vegan Dark Chocolate

This brand does make some chocolate bars with nuts in them, so I’m not sure what their cross contamination policy is, but I personally am not concerned since I can do trace contamination of nuts. I love these candy bars! They definitely deserve to be mentioned. You can buy vanilla crunch, orange vanilla, regular, salty, raspberry, and mint.

11. Juantonio’s Tortilla Chips

If you have been looking for the perfect salsa dip Tortilla Chip combo, then these are it! They are a bit more salty and oily than your regular chip and can easily be dipped into salsa (here’s my favorite salsa too!)

12. Made Good Snacks

There are a plethora of snacks sold by this brand. The granola minis are my most favorite, but I recommend trying their other snacks too!

13. Applegate Chicken Nuggets

These Chicken Nuggets are so good! The only downside is price tag. The flavor and texture are so good. I also recommend trying other things by applegate like their hot dogs, breakfast sausages, salami, pepperoni, and more! They truly are a great brand for clean safe meats.

14. Simple Truth Tater Tots (potato puffs)

Simple Truth brand has lots of options out there for vegans and some gluten free options as well. I recommend looking at that brand to see if there are other options that you can eat too. These tater tots are exactly what you want when craving the salty crispy potato-ness that is called the tater tot.

15. Oatly Ice-Cream

I love love love LOVE oatlys icecream. There is strawberry & vanilla (which are not making it on my list because they taste too much like oats), and then there’s their majestic chocolate, mint chip, coffee, and fudge brownie with chunks!!! Each and every one of those flavors are AMAZING. I love them with all my heart haha. Buy me one of these and you will have a best friend. Sadly, I am having a hard time finding these in stores so I do not have a link for you. But most Kroger stores should have one or two of the flavors.

16. Cauliflower Crust

We first found this cauliflower crust at a local restaurant. It is SO GOOD that I didn’t even realize I was eating an allergy friendly crust.

17. CocoMel’s vegan sea salt chocolate caramel balls

These chocolate caramel bites are chewy and sweet. We like to splurge and get a few packs when it’s my birthday or during camping trips. They have multiple flavor options too that I haven’t tried, but look delicious.

18. CocoMel’s Soft Caramels

I enjoy these soft chewy caramels. Perfectly sweet with hints of vanilla.

19. Costco’s Summer Sausage

We love to buy this at Costco during the winter month and make charcuterie boards filled with violife or homemade cheese, Costco & Applegate meat, and fit joy crackers. Delicious!

20. Beef Jerky Old-Fashioned Flavor

Many jerky brands do contain soy and wheat, so when I accidentally found this brand I was pleasantly surprised and it tastes great!

21. Rice Crisps

I use these almost every day. For breakfast I top off my homemade yogurt with berries & these perfectly crunchy crisps! Makes for a lovely parfait.

22. Gluten Free Cornflakes

It took me a while to figure out that regular cornflakes have gluten in it… The malt in regular cornflakes is derived from wheat. No wonder I was getting sick! But now I’m no longer sick and these organic cornflakes taste just as good.

23. Choco No No’s (M&M Copycat)

For people sensitive to artificial food dyes, these are amazing! I will say it is an acquired taste getting used to the natural fruit and vegetable food dyes. Each color has a slight aftertaste of whichever vegetable was used to make that color. But I still like them a lot and buy them for special occasions.

24. Yum Earth Gingerbread Houses
These are expensive for what they are but are amazing for kids with allergies who want to join the fun! Another option is buying partake Graham crackers and making your own gingerbread houses!

25. No Whey Twix Copycats

These are everything you want from a Twix copycat, smooth chocolate, chewy caramel, and crunchy base. I wouldn’t change a thing.

26. No Whey Cupcakes
These make for the perfect last minute cupcake when your kiddo has a school birthday party, or you have a party with friends that includes food you can’t have. This Cupcake can be stored in a work or school freezer and then brought to room temperature a hour or so before the party!

27. No Whey Holiday Candy

Options options options!!! Yay! Go to the No Whey website and enjoy looking through their large list of allergy friendly candies you can get for your family stockings this Christmas!

28. Costco’s Dried Mangoes

I have to be careful how much of these I buy because my family goes through them so fast. Sweet, chewy, delicious.

29. Daiya Mac n’ Cheese
Daiya currently has three different flavors of Mac n cheese: Alfredo, white cheddar, and cheddar. I currently am in love with the cheddar flavor. The cheddar flavor is not like regular cheese at all, but I find it to be very tasty (even though some people don’t like it). I usually keep a box of this on hand when I know I’m going to be exhausted and needing a quick easy meal. Usually I toss beef into the Mac n cheese to make a Lazy Chili Mac.

30. Hippeas (Cheeto puff substitute)

31. Graham Crackers

32. enjoy life chocolate chips

33. “Healthier” marshmallows

Marshmallows aren’t healthy no matter what, but this specific brand contains less artifice ingredients and no artificial dyes, therefore making it a little tiny bit healthier.

34. Kettle Popcorn

Did anyone say movie night?! These are amazing! I like buying this in the small bags because otherwise a large party bag is gone within a few mins.

35. Sunflower Butter

I use this on breads, pretzels, desserts, and so much more. It’s expensive, but that’s because it cannot be perfectly replicated without super expensive equipment! I love its deep yet subtle flavor.

36. Made Good Rice Krispies

Perfect for a school or work lunch snack!

37. Costco’s Himalayan Sea Salt Chips

These are so good, they are addicting!

38. Gum-Spearmint, Cinnamon, & Peppermint

I have yet to try the cinnamon and peppermint one, but the spearmint one is awesome! The flavor lasts long enough and stays fresh. The only downside is cost and size of gum. I usually chew on 2-3 pieces each time.

40. Nature’s Valley Gluten Free Fig Bars
This brand does make regular wheat filled fig bars as well, so please double check their cross contamination standards if cross contamination is an issue for you. Otherwise, these are delicious!

39. That’s It Fruit Bars

Made out of real fruit, these make a great safe snack during the day. And that’s about it!

Thank you so much for looking through this list! I hope it gives you some ideas of brands that can be safe and easy for you! Enjoy!!
