Vegetable Stir Fry
This dairy free soy free vegetable stir fry is hands down my easiest recipe & is a staple every week in our house. I love that it helps us eat our veggies regularly and doesn’t take much effort to make. We all need recipes that are easy!
This Vegetable Stir Fry is a mixture of colorful vegetables sautéed with onions and in a savory sauce rest makes for a quick side dish with dinner. It takes about 15-20 mins tops!
What is Stir Fry?
The Stir Fry originally comes from China. Chinese chefs wanted to find a quicker way to make food that was more cost effective when using limited fuel sources. Their technique is cooking food in a tiny amount of very hot oil, while stirring almost constantly.
The effect of this high heat is caramelized vegetables that still retain their natural crunchiness. None of this would be as delicious without sauce. Sauce is key to amazing stir fry! The savory and rich Unami flavoring paired with fresh vegetables is absolutely delicious.

Ingredients & Substitutes
- frozen veggie blend. (we like costcos)
- oil. Any oil will work as long as it’s an oil that can withstand high heat. Some Good options are: olive oil, canola oil, safflower oil.
- coconut aminos. If you cannot have coconut aminos, then i recommend using 4 TB mushroom seasoning powder in your sauce along with 2 TB of water
- salt.
- garlic.
- onion powder.
- pepper.
- johnnys gf sea salt seasoning.
How to Make Vegetable Stir Fry
Like I said before, Dairy Free Soy Free Vegetable Stir Fry is my easiest recipe! Simply toss all ingredients together in a pan & cover with a lid, and cook on medium temperature, till vegetables begin to brown slightly.
We cook our vegetables while the vegetables are still cold or frozen. Cooking them frozen is by far the best way to keep your vegetables from drying out when cooking. If cooking them when they are cold, I recommend adding in 1/4 cup water at the beginning to prevent drying out or burning.

Common Questions
- What Kind of Vegetables Do You Put In Stir Fry? I use the veggie mix that is least expensive and in my nearest grocery store: Costco. The Costco story fry mix in my mind is superior to every other kind! When cooked, it doesn’t become soggy and you get lots of different veggies mixed in. In fact it contains: Broccoli, Sugar Snap Peas, Green Beans, Yellow and Orange Carrots, Mushrooms, Red Bell Peppers, Water Chestnuts, and Onions.
However, if you don’t want Costcos variety mix, you can pick any vegetable or vegetable mix to fry up!
